Foreign Currencies

Edited

Student groups may occasionally need to handle transactions in foreign currencies, such as during international travel or when placing online orders with businesses that charge in non-U.S. currencies.

Credit Card Payments:

When using a credit card for purchases in foreign currencies, provide the credit card statement as documentation. This statement will include any conversion fees and currency exchange rates automatically applied by the credit card company.

Non-Credit Card Payments:

If a credit card statement is unavailable (e.g., cash payments or certain online transactions), foreign receipts must be converted to U.S. dollars.

The Oanda website is a currency converter. To ensure accuracy, enter the date of the receipt on the website to obtain the proper conversion rate for that day.

Attach the currency conversion result to the request, or include the conversion details in the line description.
