Tips and Gratuities

There may be instances where tipping or gratuities are customary, such as for catering, transportation, or venue services. Tips are permitted up to 20% of the total cost, which includes any applicable taxes and fees. Ensure that the tip amount is clearly itemized on the receipt or invoice.
Gratuities exceeding 20% will not be reimbursed, and the individual will be responsible for covering any overage. If a tip over 20% has been included when submitting a reimbursement on GrantEd, the Financial Officer must deduct the overage from the total reimbursement. The FO should also note in the line description that it is a "Partial Reimbursement" due to exceeding the gratuity limit.
