Reserve Application
Reserves only exist for VSOs created before 2018. These reserves store unused ASSU funds that are taken back at the end of each academic year. This account is unique in the sense that while the funds live under the group, they are not your groups to use freely. You must submit a reserve application and get it approved by the appropriate funding committee to use the funds.
NOTE: If your VSO has a reserve account, it is highly recommended that you exhaust these funds before applying for additional ASSU funding, as your request may be rejected if reserves remain available.
How to Create a Reserve Application:
STEP 1: Log in to GrantEd.
STEP 2: On the Dashboard, select the "Funding" tab.
STEP 3: Click on "New Application" to start your request.
STEP 4: Fill out the VSO demographic section. This will determine which ASSU funding body will review your application.
STEP 5: Fill out the necessary information on the next page and select Reserve for grant type.
Under funding source, you must select either Undergraduate Senate or Graduate Council, do not select the option with "Annual" in it as it won't show the reserve type.
STEP 6: Start the application.
You'll select which account the funds should go in depending on the request. Include a description, event name and date (if applicable), and supporting documentation.
STEP 7: Submit your transfer
STEP 8: Wait for the relevant funding bodies to vote on your request.
STEP 9: Make revisions as necessary, based on any feedback.
STEP 10: Wait until the funds are deposited into your account before submitting any payment requests.
